Shooting Star Ranch of Texas
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Campbell, Texas · Hunt County
A small family ranch near Campbell in Hunt County, east of Dallas, growing Arizona and Leyland cypress for cut-your-own, with potted trees for planting, pre-cut Fraser fir and a free hayride.
The ranch is still young and moved to cypress after pines struggled in its soil, so the field is mostly Arizona and Leyland cypress. One field is grown in large pots: you can cut those trees like any other or take one home alive to plant after the holidays. Pre-cut Fraser firs are brought in for those who want a northern fir.
It is a small operation that sells only a few hundred trees a season, and a free hayride takes you out to the rows. Go early, as the field can sell out.
