Old Time Christmas Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Spring, Texas · Harris County
A family farm in Spring, inside the Houston suburbs, where you cut your own pine or cypress and can add a train ride through the fields, a petting zoo and Santa photos on weekends.
Entry is free during the Christmas season. The farm hands out a saw, a measuring stick and twine for tying the tree to your car, and you need to arrive by 5 p.m. if you plan to cut. Field-grown pine has a light scent and sturdy branches, while the cypress has soft, flat needles and almost no scent, which suits people with sensitivities. Pre-cut Fraser firs from North Carolina are sold too.
On weekends and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Santa visits and attractions such as the train ride, petting zoo and giant slide are ticketed individually. Food stands sell snacks and hot chocolate, and outside food is not allowed. Wreaths, garland and tree stands are also for sale.
