Holiday Acres
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Manvel, Texas · Brazoria County
A family tree farm south of Houston in Manvel, planted in 1999 on an old dairy tract, where you cut your own Virginia pine and get a hayride, campfire and a cup of cocoa or mulled cider with your tree.
Saws, measuring sticks and twine are handed out at the farm, and cutting is limited to trees five feet and taller. Trees nine feet and up are scarce, so come early in the season if you want a tall one. Shaking and baling are free, and staff will trim the top or base if needed; tips for the crew are appreciated.
The hayride, campfire and natural play area are included with a tree, and snacks, tree stands and disposal bags are sold on site. Pre-cut Fraser firs are also available. Leashed dogs are welcome if you pick up after them. Cash, checks and cards are accepted. The farm stays open in rain but closes the field during lightning.
