A Portage County cut-your-own farm in Mantua with spruce and fir trees priced individually by height and fullness, a gift shop of handmade local goods and scheduled photo sessions in the fields.
The farm opens on a handful of weekends after Thanksgiving, so check the open days before you go. Trees range from tabletop size to about 14 feet and are wrapped in netting before they leave; the biggest ones need a truck or trailer to get home.
A small gift shop with local handcrafted items is open through the season, and the farm books photography sessions in early November. Family dogs are welcome with responsible owners, and a large farm dog lives on site. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
