A long-running Geauga County tree farm in Chesterland with more than 2,000 tagged trees to cut, a tree barn of pre-cut firs, weekend hay wagon rides and s'mores by the bonfire.
Cut-your-own fields hold Canaan fir, blue spruce and Norway spruce, mostly between five and nine feet; only trees with a red tag are for sale, and the Norway spruce rows open in early December. The farm lends hand saws (power saws are not allowed), and shaking, drilling and netting are included in the per-foot price. Fraser, Douglas, noble and grand fir plus Scotch and white pine are sold pre-cut in the barn, along with live balled trees.
On weekends there are tractor-drawn hay wagon rides, and a concession tent sells kettle corn, hot chocolate and funnel cakes on Fridays and weekends. Santa visits on select dates. Pets are not allowed, and the farm suggests coming early in the season for the best selection.
