Mehaffey Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Waynesville, North Carolina · Haywood County
A family-run Fraser fir farm in Haywood County, growing trees since 1984 on old pasture and tobacco ground near Waynesville, open to the public for a few weekends of choose-and-cut each holiday season.
The farm opens for retail choose-and-cut on a handful of long weekends, Thursday through Sunday for most of the season, and closes when the trees sell out. All trees are Fraser fir, and live potted tabletop trees are also sold.
Prices go by height, so measure your ceiling before you come. Cash and credit cards are accepted, but personal checks are not. The farm posts near-daily photos and updates on Facebook during the season, which is the place to check how the fields are holding up late in the year.
