Elk River Evergreens

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Elk Park, North Carolina · Avery County

A large Fraser fir farm in Elk Park with tens of thousands of trees, from small ones to giants of sixteen feet or more, open every day from mid-November to Christmas Eve.

At the Ellis family's choose-and-cut farm you pick a Fraser fir and the crew cuts, trims, shakes, bales and loads it. The rows are easy to reach and the size range is wide, so it is a good bet for very tall ceilings.

Hot chocolate, cider and popcorn are free, and the gift shop has wreaths, roping, crafts and décor. Restrooms and plenty of parking are on site. Because it opens daily for six weeks, it suits weekday trips.
