Fort Osage Christmas Trees & Weddings

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Independence, Missouri · Jackson County

A long-running tree farm and wedding venue north of Blue Springs where families have cut their own Christmas trees for nearly 30 years, with mostly pines and spruce in the fields and imported firs at the lodge.

Staff hand you a bow saw and point you to the field, where only trees tagged with a price and variety may be cut. Personal saws and chainsaws are not allowed. The field mix leans toward white pine, Norway spruce and other pines, and northern firs such as Fraser and balsam are trucked in just before the season for anyone who wants a fir.

There is no charge for admission or parking. White Pine Lodge has indoor restrooms and an accessible paved area, but the field is grass with stumps and dips that get harder going after rain or snow. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Cash and major cards are accepted, and staff can load and tie the tree for a small fee.
