Corn Hill Farms
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Kittrell, North Carolina
A family tree farm about six miles south of Oxford, an easy drive north from Raleigh, Durham and Wake Forest, with choose-and-cut Southern conifers in the field and pre-cut Fraser firs from the mountains.
The fields hold Leyland cypress, Carolina Sapphire, Blue Ice, Virginia pine and Thuja Green Giant to cut yourself, and pre-cut Fraser firs are brought down from the North Carolina mountains for anyone who wants a classic fir. A greenhouse on the farm sells plants and greenery.
The farm's own site is sparse and partly out of date, so call ahead for hours, prices and tree sizes before you go. If you cannot make the posted hours, the owner asks you to phone and arrange a visit.
