Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Yorktown Heights, New York · Westchester County
A Westchester fruit farm and winery in Yorktown Heights whose Fraser fir plantation opens the weekend after Thanksgiving, with a bakery, farm market and free hot cider with every tree.
Every tree in the plantation carries a tag with its height and price. Borrow a saw from a worker in red or ask them to cut it for you, then tear off half the tag to pay at the Red Barn market. A tractor wagon hauls trees (not people) to the baling area, where they're shaken, netted and tied to your roof.
Opening weekend requires a paid reservation credited toward your tree; after that you can just show up. The bakery sells cider donuts and pies, and the markets stock wreaths, roping and tree stands. Professional photographers are not permitted in the fields.
