A 20-acre family tree farm near Petite Lake in Lake Villa, one of the few cut-your-own options in Lake County, with one flat price for any tree and free hayrides out to the field.
Ride the free hayride out to the rows, walk the farm and cut the tree you want. Every choose-and-cut tree costs the same no matter how tall it is, which makes it an easy pick for families after a big tree.
Leashed dogs are welcome, and the fields make a good backdrop for holiday card photos. The farm posts updates on its Facebook page rather than a website, so check there for open days and weather closures before you head out.
