A family-run Santa Cruz Mountains farm above Los Gatos with two tree fields, Rancho Farm on Old Summit Road and Old Town Farm on Old Santa Cruz Highway, growing redwoods, cypress, cedar, pines and Douglas fir up to towering heights.
At Rancho Farm you choose and cut your own tree, and the farm supplies the saw, bales the tree and ties it to your car. Varieties include coast and Sierra redwood, Douglas fir, Monterey pine, Monterey and Leyland cypress, incense cedar and deodar, with sizes running well past 10 feet; very tall trees can be delivered.
Rancho Farm is open most afternoons during the week and all day on weekends, while Old Town Farm opens on weekends only. Santa visits are posted on the farm's event calendar, and the shop carries handmade wreaths and decorations. In fall the same family runs a pumpkin patch at Old Town Farm. Preseason cutting can be arranged by appointment.
