Bluebird Christmas Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Heiskell, Tennessee · Anderson County
A family tree farm in Heiskell, a short drive north of Knoxville off I-75, where you walk the fields to pick and cut a Leyland cypress, pine, spruce or Canaan fir, then warm up by the fire in the gift shop.
Borrow a saw at the farm or bring your own hand saw or hatchet; chainsaws are not allowed, and staff will do the cutting for you if you ask. Trees grown on the farm include Leyland cypress, Virginia and Scotch pine, Norway spruce and Canaan fir, while Fraser fir and a few other mountain species arrive pre-cut from farms in upper East Tennessee.
The gift shop stocks handmade wreaths and garland, tree stands, local jams, honey and handcrafted ornaments, and serves hot cider and cocoa. Measure your ceiling before you go, and bring rope or ratchet straps for the drive home, since the tree's twine is not meant for tying it to a car. Supply changes week to week, so check the farm's Facebook page or call before a late-season visit.
