Christmas Mountain Choose & Cut

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Scappoose, Oregon · Columbia County

A hilltop tree farm on Dixie Mountain above Scappoose, at about 1,500 feet, where families cut noble, Nordmann, Douglas and grand fir and sometimes find snow on the rows when the valley has none.

Bow saws and twine are free, and staff will cut the tree if you would rather not; personal chainsaws are not allowed. Trees are shaken and baled in the parking lot, and wagon rides run around the farm. Nobles and Nordmanns are priced by height, while Douglas and grand fir are sold by the foot.

On the busiest weekends a timed ticket per car is required, with limited drop-in passes at check-in; tickets go on sale in early November. Santa and Mrs. Claus visit on peak days, and the gift shop pours free coffee, cocoa and cider. Leashed dogs are welcome but not on the wagon. Cards and mobile pay are accepted.
