Indian Rock Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Camino, California · El Dorado County
A family-run choose-and-cut plantation on North Canyon Road in Apple Hill, with silvertip, white and Douglas fir, incense cedar, blue spruce and Nordmann fir, plus a fresh-cut section and very tall trees on request.
Saws and staff are on hand in the plantations, and there is a separate fresh-cut section if you would rather not cut. Entry tickets are required for the busy opening weekend right after Thanksgiving; on other open days you can simply drive in. A fire barrel helps keep hands warm on cold mornings.
The farm is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the season, and the last car is admitted half an hour before closing. If you want an especially tall tree for a high ceiling, the farm handles those by phone. It also runs a Trees for Troops program that sends trees to service members.
